WHO ARE WE
Naga DDB is a member of DDB Worldwide, one of the world’s largest marketing and communications groups with 14,000 talented people in 100 countries who share a common belief that creativity is the most powerful force in business.
At Naga DDB, we believe the big ideas are usually the simplest ones. They don’t come from putting on big advertising thinking caps, but rather, the shoes of the people we are talking to.
These consumer insights or truths help us to better understand our target audience, so we can come up with more effective strategies to help our business partners build their brands.
We call this Co-Creation, and the results are TV commercials that start conversations. Radio commercials that people listen to and talk about. Print ads that get read and remembered. Digital work that gets forwarded. Essentially, work that works.
Our passion for engaging consumers over the last 25 years has helped build many homegrown brands like DiGi, Perodua, Tourism Malaysia, ASTRO and Appeton. This same passion has made international brands like BMW, Panasonic, Nippon Paint, Nikon and Energizer relevant to Malaysian consumers.
The work we do at Naga DDB has consistently won local and international recognition for creativity and effectiveness.

MEET US
David Mitchell
Chief Operating Officer
If ever there was such a thing as the perfect job, David Mitchell has it. An advertising professional with over 17 years of experience, he gets to analyse, argue and develop brands with some of the industry's best professionals on a daily basis.
Having done two overseas stints in Indonesia and Laos, he joined Naga DDB with a better understanding of the Asian psyche as well as a deeper appreciation for local culture.
Tall in height and short of hair, he is Malaysian to the core (don't be fooled by his name).
When he’s not losing sleep over campaigns, he splits his time equally between tennis, his PS3 and an extensive collection of documentaries.
Wilson Chen
Business Unit Head
Wilson considers himself a very lucky man. In an industry that rarely allows one to leave the office, let alone the country, his career has taken him down the unlikely road where one may still enjoy a hobby – and in his case, it’s travelling.
This citizen of the world has worked on regional accounts like Ford and Shell, which took him on many memorable sojourns from Asia to Detroit. Back on home ground, he still gets nostalgic about the two years spent in Vietnam.
At Naga DDB, he truly believes that the brands he promotes are indispensable to his travels – Mamee (food on the go), Stabilo (for writing home to Mom) and Energizer batteries (he never leaves home without them).
Alvin Teoh
Creative Director
Alvin has come a long way since his beginnings as a Visualiser. He has a degree from the University of San Francisco, but he’ll tell you that the real education came from working on jobs with tight budgets and even tighter deadlines.
Alvin feels that his greatest achievement is his ability to brand his work with his trademark, the unmistakable human touch. A lot of his life experiences go into his ads – along with blood, sweat and tears.
Being responsible for DiGi, one of Malaysia’s biggest telco brands and three little kids isn’t easy, but Alvin still manages to add some colour to his life with some Nippon Paint.
Tai Kam Leong
Head of Planning
This man should have been a lawyer. Not only can he sell ice to the Eskimos, he’ll give them a pretty damn good reason to buy, too. But not without first being buried under a mountain of research the night before.
Reader, thinker, dreamer, talker, Tai came to Naga DDB in 2007 with a wealth of experience on accounts like Malaysia Airlines, Petronas, Bumiputera Commerce Bank, YTL, Maxis and Chevrolet. He now works across the agency’s key clients.
Always on the lookout for new consumer trends, new insights, new things to say and new ways to say them, perhaps Tai is in the right industry after all.
Bernard Lee
Business Unit Head
Bernard is a graduate of the ‘School of Life’. His past designations include TV host, singer in a boy band (they even released an album), and Manager of a retail chain – all before turning 22.
A pretty unorthodox string of achievements. But all mere practice for what was to come. He joined Naga DDB in 2001 and has since become one of the driving forces behind a brand that is anything but conventional – DiGi.
He hopes to return to singing (and release a comeback album) when he retires from advertising.
Ted Lim
Deputy Chairman/Executive Creative Director
Ted looks more like an accountant than a creative director. This may have something to do with the way he runs the creative department – with a head for business and a heart for creativity.
He spent the last 20 years building household names like DiGi, Perodua, Tourism Malaysia, ASTRO and Appeton while moving international brands like Panasonic, BMW, Nippon Paint, Nikon and Energizer.
For his efforts, Ted snared several Cannes Lions, picked up Malaysia’s only D&AD Yellow Pencil, got inducted into the Advertising Hall Of Fame and was named Top Creative Director by Campaign Brief Asia.
Despite all the hype, Ted is probably not the easiest person to spot in a creative convention. Look for the guy without the ponytail.
Sarina Sham
General Manager – Client Services
She may be small in stature, but Sarina is a big in many other ways. Rising to become the General Manager of Client Services in less than a decade since she joined Naga DDB, Sarina makes brand (and career) building look easy.
Her natural knack for brands became apparent when she first took on the Peter Stuyvesant account some years back. Since then, she has gone on to lead many teams and many brands, including a once little-known telco called DiGi.
When she isn’t helping brands climb the ladder of success, Sarina enjoys rock climbing.
Datuk Vincent Lee
Founder of Naga DDB
Instead of checking the temperature, he decided to set it.
The dragon behind Naga DDB, Datuk Vincent Lee is first and foremost, a brand-builder. Enemy of the ordinary, he charted the success of many brands like DiGi,Perodua, Panasonic and his own Naga DDB with creative and effective strategies.
His many accomplishments have earned him recognition from other giants in the industry. He was honoured with DDB Worldwide’s Four Freedoms Award and took his place in the DDB Winner’s Circle on three separate occasions, all for leading the best-managed office in the 206-strong DDB network.
Today, Datuk Vincent is also President of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As). As Group Executive Chairman of the Foetus Group (the holding company for Naga DDB, Milk + Co, Rapp Collins, DDB PR, Beyond Events, the START Foundation, FACES Magazine and many more), Datuk Vincent’s passion is as contagious as it is inspiring.
Sharon De Silva
Director of AV
Practice, they say, makes perfect. And Sharon’s had plenty of it, prior to becoming Director of AV at Naga DDB. In her 25-year career, she has served as prop master, casting master, line producer, senior AV producer, executive producer, and even Head of Marketing.
Evidently, Sharon has stuck by her motto: “I’ll try anything at least once.” Which was how she ended up dabbling in advertising in the first place. Among other things.
Sharon has travelled to the far reaches of the world, skydived, gone rock climbing, and eats just about anything you dare her to. Her greatest challenge yet is finding enough time to spend with her 15-year-old twin boys.
